So for awhile, one thing that has irritated me not just with firefox mods but firefox itself, is how firefox handles favicons, particularly with bookmarks. >:(
OH MY GOD are they so annoying!! Like actually, changing them is such a pain. However...
I did eventually find a way to change them! it was in a reddit post, but not only will I explain how, this will also serve as a list of websites' favicons over the years. (also if you're on chrome just use this extension.)
first off, you need to make sure "toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets" is set to true in about:config. Afterwards, go to your firefox installation folder and create a new folder named "chrome". Then, create a new file inside that folder named "userChrome.css". Go into it, and past this in there with whatever website and favicon. (NOTE: your favicons need to be in the same directory! I like to make a favicons folder, which would look like "./favicons/favicon.file)
